A creative mind at the intersection of sound, visuals, and technology — teaching, building, and making things that matter.
Piano & violin educator. Composer. Sound as language.
Graphic design, UI/UX & visual storytelling.
Building digital tools, apps & interactive experiences.
Author & thinker. Writing under Othniel Chuks.
I’m PTHUB — a music teacher, graphic designer, physiotherapist, and builder of things. Based in Enugu, Nigeria, I spend my time teaching children to play piano and violin, designing visuals that carry meaning, and building digital tools that solve real problems.
When I’m not doing any of that, I’m probably studying the Bible, playing chess, or writing. I believe creativity and discipline aren’t opposites — they’re the same thing showing up differently.

— Othniel“You can be so vulnerable that you allow your external environment and people’s opinion to determine what you think, how you think, what you do and how you do it. You can win if you pay attention.”

These are the 22 foundational Bible doctrines I hold to — rooted in Scripture, shaping how I live, teach, create, and serve.
I believe the Bible — comprising the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
I believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent. Each Person is distinct yet one in essence, nature, and glory.
I believe in God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, the Creator and sovereign Ruler of the universe, infinite in holiness, wisdom, love, and power.
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became incarnate through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as substitutionary atonement, rose bodily, and will return in glory.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells, guides, sanctifies, and empowers for holy living and effective service.
I believe that man was created in God's image but through disobedience fell into sin, bringing spiritual death upon the entire human race. All people are sinners by nature and choice, in need of salvation.
I believe salvation is the free gift of God's grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone — not earned by works or religious ritual.
I believe a sinner must be born again — regenerated by the Holy Spirit — producing a new nature and a desire to obey God.
I believe true repentance is a genuine turning away from sin toward God, involving both a change of mind and direction in life.
I believe justification is God's act declaring the sinner righteous on the basis of Christ's imputed righteousness — received through faith alone, apart from works.
I believe in sanctification — both positional (set apart in Christ) and progressive (growing in holiness). I am called to pursue practical holiness.
I believe every believer is called to live a holy, separated life — abstaining from worldly lusts and ungodly practices. True Christianity is evidenced by a transformed life.
I believe believers can have full assurance of their salvation through the testimony of the Holy Spirit, the evidence of a changed life, and God's promises.
I believe in water baptism by immersion as an outward public declaration of an inward spiritual experience — an act of obedience, not a means of salvation.
I believe in the Lord's Supper as an ordinance instituted by Christ as a memorial of His broken body and shed blood, to be observed regularly until He returns.
I believe in divine healing through prayer and faith in Christ. Healing is available to those who trust God, though His sovereignty and timing are always acknowledged.
I believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an endowment of power for Christian witness and service, distinct from regeneration.
I believe in the universal Church — the body of Christ — comprising all true believers, and the local church as an assembly of born-again believers gathered for worship, fellowship, and mission.
I believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ — the blessed hope of the Church. Believers are called to live in readiness.
I believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead — the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal judgment.
I believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost in hell — determined by one's relationship with Jesus Christ.
I believe every born-again believer is called to the Great Commission — to go into all the world, preach the gospel, make disciples, and teach all that Christ commanded.
“These convictions are not inherited traditions — they are personally held, scripturally verified, and daily lived.”

Chess is not just a game. It is the art of thinking under pressure, planning through uncertainty, and finding order in complexity. I play it for the same reasons I make music — it trains the mind to see what others miss.
Chess entered my life the same way music did — not as a hobby, but as a discipline. Every opening is a philosophy. Every middlegame is a test of patience. Every endgame is a lesson in resourcefulness.
What I love most about chess is that it rewards preparation but punishes rigidity. You can know the theory perfectly and still lose to someone who sees the board differently in that moment. It humbles you constantly.
It reminds me of life: you bring your best plan, stay adaptable, protect what matters, and never give up material without a reason.
“Chess is not about the pieces on the board. It’s about the mind behind them.”
— OthnielI enjoy tactical positions — pins, forks, skewers, discovered attacks. Finding the move that cracks an opponent's plan open is deeply satisfying.
The endgame is where technique lives. I study king and pawn endings the way I study music theory — precision matters at every step.
Chess sharpens pattern recognition — a skill that crosses over into music, design, and life. Seeing the whole picture before making a move is the discipline.
Chess is played on an 8×8 board with 6 types of pieces. Each has a unique movement. Master these and you have the foundation.
Moves one square in any direction. The most important piece — if it is checkmated, the game ends. Protect it early; activate it in the endgame.
The most powerful piece. Moves any number of squares in any direction. Losing her is usually losing the game. Deploy her with purpose.
Moves horizontally or vertically any number of squares. Devastating on open files. Two rooks doubled on the 7th rank is often game over.
Moves diagonally any number of squares. Each stays on one color for the entire game. The bishop pair working together controls massive diagonal territory.
Moves in an L-shape: two squares one way, one square perpendicular. The only piece that can jump over others. A master of surprise and fork attacks.
Moves forward one square (two on its first move) and captures diagonally. The soul of chess. A passed pawn marching to promotion can change everything.
Chess has three special moves that break the standard rules. Every player must know them.
The king moves two squares toward a rook, and that rook jumps to the other side of the king. It is the only move where two pieces move at once. Used to get your king to safety and connect your rooks.
When a pawn advances two squares from its starting position and lands beside an enemy pawn, the enemy pawn can capture it as if it had only moved one square. This capture must be made immediately on the next move.
When a pawn reaches the opposite end of the board (the 8th rank for White, 1st rank for Black), it must be promoted to any other piece — queen, rook, bishop, or knight. Almost always choose the queen.
These are the principles that separate improving players from beginners. Engrave them.
The squares e4, d4, e5, d5 are the heart of the board. Whoever controls them controls the game. Every opening fight is really a fight for the center.
Move your knights and bishops out early. Don't move the same piece twice in the opening unless forced. Get all pieces into the game before attacking.
Get your king to safety behind a wall of pawns. An exposed king in the center is a permanent target that will cost you the game.
Always ask: does my move hang a piece? Does it create a weakness? What is my opponent's best reply? One blunder can undo 30 good moves.
Don't exchange pieces without reason. A trade that improves your position is good. A trade that relieves your opponent's cramped position may be bad.
Before taking a piece or making a sacrifice, count all the attackers and defenders. More attackers than defenders usually wins — but calculate carefully.
Every lost game is a free lesson. Analyze what went wrong, find the critical moment, and you will not make the same mistake twice.
Equal positions are easier to defend. Create imbalances — pawn structure differences, open files, bishop vs. knight situations — and play to your strengths.
Chess has a language of its own. These are lines that echo far beyond the board — by masters and by me.
“Chess is life in miniature. Chess is a struggle, chess battles.”
— Garry Kasparov“Every chess master was once a beginner.”
— Irving Chernev“The beauty of a move lies not in its appearance but in the thought behind it.”
— Aaron Nimzowitsch“In chess, as in life, a man is his own most dangerous opponent.”
— Vasily Smyslov“When you see a good move, look for a better one.”
— Emanuel Lasker“Chess is not about the pieces on the board. It is about the mind behind them.”
— Othniel“The winner of the game is the player who makes the next-to-last mistake.”
— Savielly Tartakower“Tactics flow from a superior position.”
— Bobby Fischer“A plan is not a rigid thing. It must breathe with the position.”
— Othniel“Chess teaches you that patience is not passive — it is a weapon.”
— Othniel“It is not enough to be a good player — you must also play well.”
— Siegbert Tarrasch“The most important feature of the chess position is the activity of the pieces.”
